Your files stay your business.
This page explains the current website demo and the privacy principles planned for MacTidy. The native app has not launched.
This website
The interactive previews use invented files and sizes held in memory in your browser. They do not access, scan, upload, move or delete files on your Mac. Refreshing the page resets the demo.
The website code includes no analytics or advertising trackers, email signup, payment form or account system. Fonts and illustrations are served with the site. The hosting service may process ordinary request information to deliver the website.
The planned Mac app
File analysis is designed to happen locally, with access limited to folders or macOS locations you explicitly authorize. Local functions will not require an account. Optional monitoring and notifications will be opt-in.
Planned malware scans run on demand, on folders you choose, on your Mac. Findings record the file path, verdict, evidence and signature version locally; files are not uploaded for analysis. Signature updates download definitions only and send no scan results. Quarantined files stay on your Mac in protected, non-executable storage until you restore or delete them.
Planned memory and performance monitoring samples CPU, memory pressure, swap, free disk space and battery status, plus per-app memory and CPU use. Samples stay on your Mac, can be paused at any time and are kept only for the retention period you set. Private process arguments and document contents are not recorded.
Checkout and license validation, if provided by a separate service, will be explained before launch. Any optional product metrics will require consent and must not upload filenames or document contents. The release privacy policy will describe the actual implementation and providers.
